Network Engineer
This position will be responsible for planning, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting and day-to-day management of our IP-based network. The candidate will also work with major customer accounts in providing pre- and post-sales engineering support. The candidate will provide technical leadership for various projects, including new product development & deployment, network standardization, transition planning for legacy equipment.
Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of Telecommunications systems. Knowledge in Internet access technologies including DSL, Dialup, PPPoE, L2TP, RF. Hands-on CAT3/CAT5 wiring. Knowledge of internal & external routing protocols - BGP, OSPF, MPLS, RIP.
Ability to
read, write and fully speak and understand both Spanish and English
languages. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure. Team player.
Minimum 3 years IP network experience.
Field Service Technician
The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site installation services within both customer sites and Caribe.Net POP's. You will be providing technical support, installing new equipment, troubleshooting & maintaining existing equipment.
Previous customer service and/or field service experience preferred. Knowledge in Internet and/or telecommunications access technologies preferred. Hands-on CAT3/CAT5 wiring experience a must. Must be resourceful, self-sufficient, reliable & dependable. Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure. Must have a valid Puerto Rico driver's license.
Customer Service Representative
Caribe.Net's Customer Service Representatives provide profesional telephone support to our customers on issues related to their account - both billing-related and technical connection issues. You will be responsible for providing technical support & troubleshooting to both Caribe.Net customers as well as contract support customers. Assist in the creation & development of Technical Support materials. Monitor & report network outtages. Data entry, including accepting customer payments, modifying records, opening tickets.
Previous customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of Internet technologies a must, including DSL, Dial-up, WiFi and PPPoE. Knowledge of routing and/or server experience preferred. Must be resourceful, self-sufficient, reliable & dependable. Must be able to work under pressure. Bilingual English/Spanish a must.
